Cardinal Free Clinics

For more than 20 years, the Cardinal Free Clinics have been providing quality, free medical care to low-income, uninsured populations in our local community. The Mission of Cardinal Free Clinics is to provide culturally appropriate, high quality transitional medical care for an underserved patient population and to educate and empower a new generation of health care leaders to proactively address health disparities and improve access to care in their communities. The CFC is comprised of two student-run free clinic sites in San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties: Arbor Free Clinic in Menlo Park and Pacific Free Clinic in San Jose.

The clinics offer a hands-on learning environment for Stanford students while filling a critical gap in the local healthcare safety net.

The Office of Community Health provides administrative and educational oversight for the Cardinal Free Clinics.

Cardinal Free Clinics was established in 2005 as a union of Arbor and Pacific Free Clinics. The clinics are owned and operated by the Stanford University School of Medicine.
