Past events and news at the Office of Community Health:

Spring 2008:
- OCH convenes local community members, Stanford students, staff, and faculty to discuss the factors affecting health in underserved communities, in a program entitled, Rethinking Health Inequities Beyond Medicine.
Winter 2008:

- OCH Faculty Director Marilyn Winkleby awarded the Judith Pool Award

- OCH Associate Director, Ann Banchoff, is recognized for her work in community Health.

Fall 2007:

- 6th Annual Fall Forum on Community Health and Public Service showcased over 25 student projects, ranging from local to international work.
- Population health community partners meet to plan health curriculum.
Summer 2007:
- OCH partners with Children Family Health
International

Spring 2007:
- 2007 Schweitzer fellows accepted! Three Stanford studentsparticipated in Schweitzer fellowships. Read article in the Stanford Report.
Winter 2007:
- Marilyn Winkleby and Ann Banchoff comment on the proposed Santa Clara County budget cuts and its impact on public health. Vantage Point: Public health budget cuts could cripple progress.
- Students lend hand at Oakland health forum. This project is part of the new Population Health Curriculum, coordinated by the OCH, which introduces all first year Stanford medical students to current issues in community health.
- Learn about the Field in Preventive Medicine

Fall 2006:
- The 5th Annual Fall Forum on Community Health and Public Service is held. The Outstanding Community Partner Awards are
given to: Community Health Partnership of Santa Clara County and San Mateo County Health Department
Spring 2006:
- The OCH presented a poster at the 9th Annual Community-Campus Partnerships for Health Conference in Minneapolis
- The OCH receives award from Community Health Partnership Celebrating Partnership
